Red Nose Day 2015

This year we join thousands of UK schools and colleges on a mission to raise as much money as possible to get a target of 300,000 children across Africa into education and learning. And this year’s campaign is set to be bigger than ever before because the money raised will be doubled by the UK government. Red Nose Day is also a great opportunity to explore global issues.

What sort of projects does Comic Relief support?

Comic Relief uses the money raised through Red Nose Day to transform lives in the UK and across Africa. Our money could help to transform the lives of thousands of children who struggle to get to school by providing books, uniforms, and improvements to teacher training, so that Africa’s children can get access to the education they deserve.

• £1 could buy a year’s supply of books for a child in Ghana
• £15 could buy a uniform for an orphaned child in Zambia
• £150 could buy a wheelchair for a disabled child in Zambia
• £1200 could buy a clean water supply for a school in Uganda

Red Nose Day at Sandbach School

There will be several fund raising events taking place in the lead up to Friday 13^th March 2015.

1. Design a Golden nose for KS3 students
2. Design your own Red Nose for YR8 students as part of their Art home learning
3. Red nose selfie competition for KS4 & 5 pupils
4. Our students will also be encouraged to do their own, personal fundraising events. Sponsorship forms can be collected from Pupil Reception

There will also be the chance for students to soak a teacher and possibly slime a Senior Teacher – more detail to follow!! Please encourage your son to become involved with this very worthwhile fundraising event. The chance to help others and broaden his horizons at the same time is priceless.
